Wagon Restorations

The International Circus Hall of Fame is excited about working on three wagons in the coming months but we need your help.  The Cole Bros. Circus Menagerie Canvas and Pole wagon was recently salvaged from the old Paul Kelly farm on the west side of Peru. It was built in 1947 as an all steel wagon. The wheels still rolled when it arrived at the Circus Hall of Fame during the spring of 2021.

Your help will be Greatly appreciated.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus # 1 Commissary wagon was a wooden wagon that had a water tank in the bottom half of the wagon. This wagon was ruined when it arrived in Peru in 1986 but the steel frame still exists. This is a new project we would like to re-build as many people can actually have a hands on experience in  the wooden body rebuild during our work weeks.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Giraffe wagon is only one of two still left in existence. The wagon was built in the Sarasota winter quarters in 1949 by Bill Yeske and his crew. Being entirely made out of metal, it will require a considerable amount of metal work. Based on the current restoration of the Ringling Bandstand wagon, we anticipate about $ 30,000 in repairs will be needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
