The Denver, Colorado based circus began in 1904 as the Otto C. Floto Circus. In 1905 it became the Great Floto Circus and then in 1906, it became known as the Sells-Floto Circus. This show grew and prospered into one of the larger shows on the road. On November, 25, 1920, Jerry Mugivan, Bert Bowers and Ed Ballard bought the Sells-Floto Circus from Harry Tammen and Fred C. Bonfils.
