The Sparks Circus had a long life beginning with the John H. Sparks Shows and eventually being under the control of his son, Charles Sparks. The title was shortened to simply being known as the Sparks Circus. Being bought underhandedly by H.B. Gentry of Gentry Bros. Dog and Pony Shows fame for the American Circus Corporation, the show only existed for two years under their control. John Ringling bought the entire American Circus Corporation in Sept. of 1929 and closed the Sparks Circus at the end of the 1930 season.
