1921 – Howe’s Great London Shows and Van Amburgh’s Trained Wild Animal Shows

Jerry Mugivan, Bert Bowers and Ed Ballard bought the Yankee Robinson Circus from Fred Buchanan over the winter of 1920 / 1921. The Yankee Robinson Circus was sent into Lancaster, MO. also where it was combined with the Howe’s show at the Wm. P. Hall farms. It went out of Lancaster as the Howe’s Great London Shows and Van Amburgh’s Trained Wild Animal Shows in 1921.

At the close of the 1921 season, the show was wintered in Montgomery, Alabama. The title Howe’s Great London shows was sold to Sam Goldman. The show would go out in 1922 as the Gollmar Bros. Circus.

The Complete route is found in the 1921 Route Book. This Route book was a joint effort between the Circus World Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the John and Mable Ringling Museums in Sarasota, Florida and the Milner Library, Special Collections of the Illinois State University.
